Abstract

Economic Growth as the dependent variable, the independent variables are population growth, labors and dependency ratio. The research questions in this study are 1. How is the population growth, labors, and dependency ratio affect the economic growth in Kupang City simultaneously? 2. How is the population growth, labors, and dependency ratio affect the economic growth in Kupang City partially? And the purpose of this research are 1. To analyze the affects of population growth, labors, dependency ratio to the economic growth in Kupang City simultaneously. 2. To analyze the affects of population growth, labors, dependency ratio to the economic growth in Kupang City partially. The population in this research are population growth, labors and dependency ratio. The samples in this research are the data of population growth, labors, and dependency ratio in the last ten years (2008-2017). Independent Variable (X) in this research are economic growth (X1), labors (X2) and dependency ratio (X3), and dependent variable (Y) is economic growth. This research is analyzed using SPSS 16 which is inferential statistic with four tests that are classic assumption test, multiple linear analysis, hypothesis test and coefficient determination analysis (R2). From this research it is known that the variables population growth, labors, dependency ratio have a positive affect and significant to economic growth simultaneously. It is visible by Regression column F as big as 17.049 with Sig. 0.002 < α = 0,05. That is why its decision to deny Ho and accept Ha means that independent variable simultaneously affect siginificantly to the dependent variable Economic Growth (Y) Kupang City 2008-2017. The Variables labors and dependency ratio do not affect significantly to the economic growth while the rate of population growth affect siginificantly to the rate of economic growth in Kupang City. Based on the result of the research the suggestions to the Kupang City Government: to increase the skills of the workforce that are available through the programs such as Balai Latihan Kerja (BLK). So the numbers of the workforce that are working will increase, capital income can increase, and the economic growth can increase.
