Abstract

Leke Traditional Village is located in the western of The Mount Inerie, which is the part of Desa Sebowuli, District Inerie, Ngada Regency on Flores Island, Indonesia. Leke is being built by the colaboration of the three institutes; they are adha gua as cultural tradition, Roman Catholic Church and Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia. Cultural tradition becomes the main strength or it has been being the natural spirit of the Leke people, as like as also the whole society of Bhajawa Ethnic Group. Ngadhu-Bhaga which are standing in the middle of the village are models for men and women to be the perfect human beings. Weaving the traditional cloth becomes the way to achieve the ideal type of humanity. The man wears sapu lu’e for strength and protection and woman‘s cloth called lawo is functioned as the cover of her inner beauty. So, Bhajawa philosophy says: sapu lu’e êma nara we sipo têbo nêko wêki, lawo butu ine wêta we kodo lo dhêwi wêki. It means that the traditional cloth is the spiritual cloth or in other word sabo wêki expressed the Bhajawa human personality. The personality of Bhajawa society is the cristalization of ideology, ethic, religiosity and esthetic. As man or woman, they knows well either they are ga’e meze, ga’e kisa or azi ana. By the knowledge, they have to obey the prohibition and the necessity as the human beings who are being lead by the Holy Spirit or shined by the unity of Dewa Wawo, Dewa Sa’o and Dewa Ja’o. The Supreme Being wills the same quality for the human, so The Divine God proclaims the love and unity of husband and wife and the continuity of the united love forever. By becoming the good son and brother, the better husband and then father, someone has been a man. By being the lovely daughter and sister, beloved wife and then mother, someone has become a woman. Those are the handsome and beautiful Bhajawa people who have the full of mercy and given the crane of glory. Gaja gora moe ga’e maku.
