Abstract

Economic growth in the province of East Nusa Tenggara as the dependent variable, the independent variables are the primary, secondary and tertiary economic sectors. The formulation of the problem in this study is 1) how does the partial, primary and secondary economic sector influence partially affect economic growth in the East Nusa Tenggara Province? 2) how are the variables of the primary, secondary and tertiary economic sectors simultaneously influencing economic growth in the East Nusa Tenggara Province? The purpose of this study is 1) to determine the effect of the variables of the primary, secondary and tertiary economic sectors partially on economic growth in the East Nusa Tenggara Province. 2) to determine the effect of the variables of the primary, secondary and tertiary economic sectors simultaneously on economic growth in the East Nusa Tenggara Province. The population in this study amounted to the last 5 years, namely in 2012- 2017 while the sample examined was 5 years. In the sample technique research used is a saturated sampling technique, which is a sample that represents the population. The independent variables in this study are the primary economic sector (X1), the secondary economic sector (X2) and the tertiary economic sector (X3) and the dependent variable is economic growth (Y). The method of data collection using in this study is to retrieve data that has been prepared in BPS. This study was processed using Eviews, namely inferential statistics with four tests, namely the classical assumption test, panel data regression, hypothesis testing and multiple linear regression analysis. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the secondary economic sector variables have a positive and significant influence on economic growth of 1.524139, the variables of the primary and tertiary economic sectors have a negative and not significant effect on economic growth of -0.015117 at a 50% confidence level. While the primary, secondary and tertiary economic sectors simultaneously have a negative and not significant effect on economic growth in the East Nusa Tenggara Province, which is equal to 0.012573 and the three variables X1, X2 and X3, are able to explain 37.98% of the Y variable and the remaining 76.02% is influenced by other variables including employment opportunities, work productivity, income inequality and others. Based on the results of the analysis it is recommended that the Government need to increase output in the GRDP sector towards economic growth and be balanced with expansion of employment.
