Abstract

This research was written by Maria TresiaSadaKeo (31115086) Economic Development study program under the guidance of I supervisor Mr. Marius Masri SE, M.si and mentor II Br. SulomonLeki, SE, M.Ec.Dev with the research title "Analysis of Population Growth In the city of Kupang. The research objectives are three, namely: 1) To find out the variables of birth, death, and migration have a parser effect on the population growth of each sub-district in Kupang City. 2) To find out the variables of birth, death, and migration have a simultaneous effect on the growth of educators in each sub-district in Kupang City. 3) To determine the effect of population growth in each sub-district in Kupang City. This study uses quantitative data is a type of data that is measured or calculated directly, in the form of information or explanations expressed in numbers or in the form of numbers. Sources of data used in research are secondary data, namely: data sources that do not directly provide data to data collectors for example through other people or through documents, with a significant level of 5%. There were 60 samples in this study processed using eviews 10 which were analyzed by inferential statistics consisting of 1) Tests of classical assumptions, namely the test for normality, multicollinearity, heterocedasticity, and autocorrelation. 2) Regression analysis consisting of multiple linear regression analysis. 3) Hypothesis testing consisting of t test, f test and coefficient of determination. The results of the study obtained birthrate (X1), mortality (X2), and mifgrasi (X3) simultaneously and significantly influenced the growth of the population (Y) in Kupang City. Partially the birth rate (X1) influences population growth in Kota Kupang, mortality (X2) and migration (X3) partially does not affect population growth in Kota Kupang. With a determination coefficient of 0.503624 or 50.36%, while the remaining 49.64% is explained by other variables not included in the study. With the results of the study it is suggested to the Kupang City Government that it is expected that every year it can reduce birth rates by emphasizing family planning programs or other programs. The researcher hopes that the next research will be able to provide and develop independent variables related to population growth in the city of Kupang.
