Abstract

Research on the effectiveness of natural zeolite activated studies from Manikin NTT has been carried out as an adsorbent for purifying water wells in Alkani village, Malacca district in column. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of activated natural zeolite from Manikin NTT as an adsorbent for the treatment of alkani village well water in Malacca district. This research was conducted by testing the physical parameters, chemical parameters, and biological parameters in the well water samples of Alkani Village, Wewiku District, Malacca District. The results showed that zeolites from Manikin NTT can reduce iron (Fe), total hardness (CaCO3) and bacterial content in water. Iron levels in water before and after passing the filtering process namely: 5.03 mg / L and 2.77 mg / L, the total hardness of water before and after passing the filtering process namely: 581.17 mg / L and 350.66 mg / L and the bacterial content in the water sample before and after zeolite filtering was 95 bacterial cells / 100 mL and 21 cells / 100 mL.
