Abstract
Contextual Approach is a learning approach that provides facilities for learning activities of learners to seek, process, experience learning more concrete (related to life) through the involvement of learners' activities in trying, doing, and experiencing themselves to find the meaning of learning. The main problem in this research is how the result of applying the contextual approach of basic subject matter of Simple Aircraft to students of class VIII B odd semester of SMPK St. Thersia "DISAMAKAN" Kupang academic year 2016/2017? Specifically, the problems in this study are: 1) How is the ability of teachers in managing the process of physics learning by applying contextual approach? 2) How to Complete the Learning Results Indicator (product, process, affective and psychomotor) in physics learning by applying contextual approach? 3) How are learning outcomes (product, process, affective and psychomotor) learners in physics learning by applying contextual approach? 4) How the learner responds to the process of physics learning by applying a contextual approach? The main objective of this research is to describe the result of contextual approach of basic subject matter of Simple Aircraft to students of class VIIIB odd semester of SMPK St. Thersia "DISAMAKAN" Kupang academic year 2016/2017? Specifically, the purpose of this study are: 1) Describe the ability of teachers in managing the process of physics learning by applying a contextual approach. 2) Describe the completeness of Learning Results Indicator (product, process, affective and psychomotor) in physics learning by applying contextual approach. 3) Describe learning outcomes (product, process, affective and psychomotor) learners in physics learning by applying contextual approach. 4) Describe the learner's response to the physics learning process by applying a contextual approach. The type of research is descriptive. Subjects in this study were teachers and participants didk class VIIIB SMPK St. Theresia "dibamakan" Kupang which amounted to 29 people. Techniques used and data collection are observation, test and questionnaire. Learning tools used in this study are Teachers Educational Materials, Syllabus, Learning Implementation Plan, and Student Work Sheets. While the instruments used in this study are the Observation Sheets Management Learning Contextual Approach, Test Results Learning Learners, Aspect Assessment Sheet (process, affective, psychomotor), and Questionnaire Response Learners. The data analysis technique of this research is descriptive analysis by calculating average score, proportion and percentage. Based on the result of the descriptive analysis, it is concluded that the application of contextual approach of basic subject matter of Simple Aircraft to students of class VIIIB SMPK St. Theresia "DISAMAKAN" Kupang academic year 2016/2017 is optimal.
