Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the effect of emotional intelligence on mathematics learning achievement of grade XII IPA of Catholic Senior High School of Sint Carolus Penfui Kupang, to know the effect of parents' attention on mathematics learning achievement of grade XII student of Catholic Senior High School of Catholic Sint Carolus Penfui Kupang, and to know effect emotional intelligence and attention of parents to mathematics learning achievement of grade XII students of Catholic Senior High School Sint Carolus Penfui Kupang. The type of research used is quantitative research with statistical analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis. Population in this research is all class XII IPA SMA Catholic Sint Carolus Penfui Kupang with research sample consist of 30 0rang taken by random sampling technique. Data collection techniques used standardized test kits, questionnaires, and mathematics achievement tests that have been tested for validity and reliability. Prior to performing statistical analysis, prior analysis requirements were examined which included normality, linearity and multicolinearity tests. Data analysis performed using SPSS 22.0 for windows program. Based on multiple regression analysis, it can be concluded that emotional intelligence and parental attention has an influence on mathematics learning achievement with regression equation Y = 9, 136 + 0,457X1 + 0,457X2. F_count = 5,693> 3.37 = F_table. then accept H_0, meaning there is an effect between emotional intelligence and attention of parents to mathematics learning achievement of students of class XI IPA SMA Catholic Sint Carolus Penfui Kupang. Based on the results of SPSS 22.0 for windows, F test has the effect of emotional intelligence and attention of parents to student's mathematics learning achievement and t test of emotional intelligence and attention of parents have effect on student's mathematics learning achievement. Thus, with the effect between emotional intelligence and parental attention to student learning achievement of mathematics, it is expected to the parties concerned in order to support the activities of students, both in the family environment, in the school environment, and in the community so that it can help students get a good learning achievement.
