Abstract

This research was written by Sesanrius Jabur (31115144) Economic Development Study Program under the guidance of supervisor I Mr Marius Masri, SE, M.Sc and Advisor II Br. Salomon Leki, SE, M.Ec.Dev with the research title "Analysis of the Effect of Labor Force and Unemployment Rate on Gross Regional Domestic Product of Kupang Regency". The purpose of this study is 1) To determine the Effect of Labor Force, Unemployment on Gross Regional Domestic Product in 2004-2018. 2) To determine the effect of the Labor Force, Unemployment partially and significantly on Gross Regional Domestic Product in Kupang Regency in 2004-2018. 3) To determine the effect of the Labor Force, Simultaneous and Significant Unemployment on Gross Regional Domestic Product in Kupang Regency in 2004- 2018. This study uses quantitative data, the type of data that can be measured or calculated directly, in the form of information or explanations expressed in numbers or in the form of numbers. Data Sources used in this study are secondary data, i.e. data sources that do not directly provide data to data collectors, for example through other people or through documents, with a significant level of 5%. There are 15 samples in this study and then processed using Eviews 10 and analyzed using the panel data regression model and inferential statistics with four tests, namely 1) Classic assumption test 2) Multiple linear regression analysis 3) Hypothesis testing 4) Analysis of the coefficient of determination (R2) . The results are obtained: Labor Force and Unemployment simultaneously and significantly influence Gross Regional Domestic Product, Labor Force and Unemployment have a partial and significant effect on Gross Regional Domestic Product. With the results of the Goodness of fit Test (R2) Determination Coefficient of 0.69929 3 or 69.92% Dependent Variables (Gross Regional Domestic Product) can be explained by the Workforce Independent variable variables (X1), Unemployment (X2). With the results of this study it was suggested to the Kupang District Government to actively try to get the community to engage in productive activities so that the level of community participation in empowering the economy in daily activities also increased. breadth for the sake of independence and economic resilience of the community which impact on increasing GDP.
