Abstract

The problem raised in this study is how is the description of the Kupang City tax mapping in 2013-2018.The purpose of this study is to find out the picture of mapping the potential of the Kupang City area tax in 2013-2018. The benefits of this research are, as input and information for the City of Kupang in NTT Province. The type of data used is quantitative data. Sources of data used are primary data that is data obtained through interviews ans secondary data released from of a target report and the realization of the Kupang City regional tax. The data analysis technique in this study is a qualitative descriptive analysis that is processed using Klassen Typology to map the categories of potential, developing, and underveloped leading sources by making a matrix of the average contribution and average rate of growth of local tax revenue The analysis found that the mapping of potential local tax revenue using Klassen typology analysis in 2013-2018 seen from the average contribution of revenue per local tax source and the average rate of growth of revenue per local tax source can be categorized in the following sources. For the Main Sources category, hotel tax and restaurant tax. Next for the Potential Sources category are Road Lighting Tax and BBPP Tax. And the following for the Developing Sources category is Entertainment Tax, Parking Tax and the last for the Underdeveloped Sources category is the Advertisement Tax. It is thus suggested that the Kupang City Government should pay attention and increase Local Tax Revenue revenues based on regional potential maps for each sector and subsector, and be able to explore the potential that exists in each area by focusing on tax sources in order to become the leading source.
