Abstract

The formulation of the problem in this research are 1) What is the description of the business of rice farmers in Tarus Village, Central Kupang District, Kupang Regency?; 2) How much is the income of lowland rice farmers in Tarus Village, Central Kupang District, Kupang Regency?. The objectives of the study were 1) to find out the general description of the business of lowland rice farmers in Tarus Village, Central Kupang District, Kupang Regency, 2) to determine the income of lowland rice farmers in Tarus Village, Central Kupang District, Kupang Regency. The analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative with data collection methods through observation, questionnaires and documentation. While the sample in this study amounted to 56 rice farmers. The results of this study indicate that the average land area of respondent farmers is 4.5 ha, so the total gross income obtained from 56 respondents of lowland rice farmers in Tarus Village is Rp. 640,000,000. The total net income of farmers is Rp. 305,000,000. The average income of farmers is Rp. 5,446,428, with a minimum of IDR 13,000,000 and a maximum of IDR 119,000,000. According to this conclusion, it is recommended for lowland rice farmers to increase their income or lowland rice production in order to continue to use superior rice seeds and good pesticides and fertilizers. It is necessary to maintain the quality of lowland rice production in order to get a higher selling value or price.
