Abstract

This study is entitled “The Effect of education level, work experience and work motivation on the performance of PAUD educators in Kupang City”. It was conducted by Lidia Natalia Sitompul with Reg. No. 8112201029MM, supervised by Dr. Watu Vianey Yohanes, M.Hum and Dr. Drs. Kletus Erom, M.Hum.. This study aims to determine: 1) description of educator performance, educational level, work experience and work motivation of educators in early childhood education programs (PAUD) in Kupang, 2) the significance of the partial effect of educational level, work experience, and work motivation on the performance of PAUD educators in Kupang, 3) the significance of the simultaneous effect of education level, work experience and work motivation on the performance of PAUD educators in Kupang. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. Respondents totaled 91 PAUD educators who are still actively carrying out teaching and learning activities for the 2021/2022 Academic Year. Data analysis techniques used multiple linear regression analysis with t-test hypothesis test. The test results show that the level of education and work motivation have a positive and significant effect on the educators’ performance. This is evidenced by the positive regression coefficient values of 5,142 and 2,661 respectively, and the significance values of the t-test are 0.000 and 0.009, smaller than the alpha level at 0.05 (5%). Work experience has a positive but not significant effect with the regression coefficient value of 0.646 and a significant value of 0.520 which is greater than the alpha level. The results present that there is a positive contribution of education level, work experience and work motivation (accounting 50.5%) to the PAUD educators’ performance in Kupang. Meanwhile the remaining is determined by other variables not examined in this study. The results of the study suggest that PAUD’s managers consider the educational background of educators and carry out regular evaluations to determine educator performance.
