Abstract

Education is one of the important things in eradicating ignorance and making human resources in Indonesia educated and rich in knowledge. The need for knowledge is not limited to anyone. In Kupang City, facilities and infrastructure for students who have mental or physical disabilities are very limited. Therefore, it is necessary to pay special attention to children who have mental disorders so that they can also learn and gain education with good facilities. Through a ministerial regulation, the government emphasizes that Indonesian people with disabilities can also be given the opportunity to get a proper education. This is also regulated in Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 8 of 2016 concerning persons with disabilities, chapter IV on respecting, protecting and fulfilling the rights of persons with disabilities, part three concerning education. The concept of Planning and designing an Integrated Special School (SLB) used a behavioral architecture approach, so that it can adapt to the mental and physical conditions of students who will receive education at the school. The behavioral architectural approach is an excellent approach to special education.
