Abstract

The development of information technology in the world of medicine today is very rapid. This development is very helpful for doctors in finding information to diagnose diseases suffered by patients, especially dental and oral diseases. The development of information technology is also very helpful for doctors to find new symptoms and diseases. Dental and oral organs often receive less attention due to the lack of awareness of the people of Belu Regency, especially the people in West Tasifeto District, who often ignore hygiene regarding teeth and mouth. While dental and oral health is very important, because teeth and mouth are one of the vital organs that are related to other body members. From the existing problems, it is necessary to create a Web-based expert system application that can help the community and health centers in diagnosing dental and oral diseases. This research uses the Certainty Factor method which can work forward to get solutions that follow the facts. The application is built using the PHP programming language and MySql database. The results of this study are an expert system that can assist in diagnosing dental and oral diseases without having to wait for dental and oral experts to arrive. The use of this expert system can assist the public in diagnosing dental and oral diseases and can provide information about diseases and symptoms in the teeth so as to avoid these diseases.
