Abstract

Research has been carried out on the extraction of Al (III) and Fe (III) ions from the leaves of Loba Manu (Symplocos fasciculota) using 8- hydroxyquinoline (Oxin) extractants with chlorophome solvents. This study aims to determine the optimum conditions for the formation of Al (III) -oxinate and Fe (III) -osinate complexes including pH and concentration of oxin. The sample used in this research is Loba Manu leaves from Mbombhenga Village, Nangapanda District, Ende Regency, Flores, NTT. The method used was the solvent extraction method and the extracted Al (III) and Fe (III) ions were measured using UVVisible Spectrophotometry. The research stage consisted of determining the optimum conditions which included the maximum wavelengths of Al (III) and Fe (III) at 200-400 nm wavelengths, optimization of pH with variations of 2 to 10, concentrations of oxin 10-5 to 10-1 M, and analysis. the content of Al (III) and Fe (III) in the Loba Manu leaf samples resulted from the destruction. The results showed that the Al (III) -oxinate complex at a wavelength of 295 nm and Fe (III) - oxinate at a wavelength of 254 nm. The optimum conditions for the extraction of Al (III) and Fe (III) metals in chlorophome solvent with extraction of oxins, namely the Al (III) -oxinate complex at pH 5 and Fe (III) -oxinate at pH 3 and the concentration of oxin for Al (III) and Fe (III) is 10-3M. The Al (III) content in the sample was 63093.75 µg / g and Fe (III) was 17091.036 µg / g.
