Abstract

Thesis Title: The effectiveness of using direct modeling techniques through group guidance to reduce student truancy behavior. The problems studied in this thesis are (1) Why is direct modeling technique through group guidance used to reduce student truancy behavior? (2) What is the procedure for using direct modeling techniques through group guidance to reduce student truancy behavior? (3) Does the use of direct modeling techniques through group guidance reduce students' truancy behavior effectively? This study aims to determine (1) the reasons for using direct modeling techniques through group guidance to reduce student truancy behavior, (2) the procedures for using modeling techniques through groups to reduce student truancy behavior, (3) the effectiveness of using direct modeling techniques through group guidance. to reduce student truancy behavior. This study uses a literature review method. The object of research in this research is direct modeling technique, group guidance, student truancy behavior. This study uses secondary data sources. The type of data used is qualitative. The results of this study indicate that the reason for using direct modeling techniques through group guidance services is to reduce student behavior because through direct modeling students can imitate the model presented directly. Through the model presented, students can feel directly the negative impact of truant behavior and take the meaning of imitation. The procedure for applying direct modeling techniques through group guidance to reduce student behavior is carried out with the following group guidance stages: the development stage, the activity stage, and the termination stage. At the group guidance stage, the counselor helps the counselee to reduce truancy behavior, using direct modeling techniques with the following steps: setting a model to be imitated, letting students pay attention to the model that has been presented, letting students imitate the model that has been presented, giving rewards and punishments as a result of implementing and not implementing a direct modeling process. Direct modeling technique proved effective in reducing truancy behavior. The effectiveness of using direct modeling techniques to reduce student truancy is evidenced by an article from Sari's research (2017). Based on the results of the study above, the researchers put forward suggestions to: (1) BK teachers are expected to be able to further study the use of direct modeling techniques through group guidance to reduce student truancy behavior. (2) Authors are expected to deepen their knowledge to be more skilled at using direct modeling techniques through group guidance to reduce student truanc.
