Abstract

Keyboard is one of the subjects studied by students of the music education study program. The problem raised in this study is how to apply the basic fingering technique to keyboard musical instruments in the scale 1 mol (b) to 3 mol (b) through the Drill Method for Semester 3 Students of Music Education at Widya Mandira University, Kupang. The purpose of this writing is to find out and describe the Application of Basic Fingering Techniques to Keyboard Musical Instruments in the Scale of 1 mole (b) to 3 moles (b) through the Drill Method for Semester 3 Music Education Students at Widya Mandira Catholic University Kupang. This study uses a qualitative approach. The objects in this study were 3rd semester students of the Music Education Study Program, Widya Mandira University, Kupang. Data obtained through data collection techniques such as observation, interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that: 1) the method used in the application of the Basic Keyboard Fingering Technique in Scales 1 mol (b) to 3 mol (b) for 3rd semester students is to use the drill method, namely by means of researchers applying the same thing simultaneously. continuously starting with the introduction of finger codes in playing the keyboard, fingering scales of 1 to 3 moles to be played, introducing song melodies and techniques for playing broken chords and arpeggios separately and then playing them together. After that, the researcher guided the students to practice the technique of playing broken chords and arpeggios as a basis for accompanying the song Ibu Kita Kartini while reading scores and paying attention to sitting positions and finger positions that were good and right.
