Abstract

Title of thesis: profile of student motivation in class VIIIC St. Catholic Middle School. Familia Kupang and its implications for tutoring programs. Formulation of the problem 1) what is the profile of students' learning motivation in class VIIIC of St. Catholic Middle School. Familia for the 2022/2023 school year? 2) ) what are the implications of the study motivation profile of class VIIIC students at St. Catholic Middle School. Familia Kupang for the 2022/2023 school year for tutoring programs. The purpose of this study was to find out: 1) profile of students learning motivation in class VIIIC of St. Catholic Middle School. Familia Kupang for the 2022/2023 school year. 2) the implications of the study motivation profile of class VIIIC students at St. Catholic Middle School. Familia Kupang for the 2022/2023 school year and its implications for the tutoring program. This study used a quantitative descriptive method with a data collection tool in the form of a student learning motivation questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is the central tendency analysis. The result of the research data analysis showed that the average score of stdents learning motivation in class VIIIC of St. Catholic Middle School. Familia Kupang for the 2022/2023 academic year of 180,7222 is in the range of score 165-203 including the category. The results of data analysis on all motivation to learn, the average score of the encouragement aspect of 46,3333 is between of the range of score 42-51 including the high category, the average score of the commitment aspect of 45,6666 is between the range of score 42-51 and is included in the high category , the average score of the initiative aspect is 34,7962 which is in the range of score 32-41 including the high category, the average score of the optimistic aspect is 45,4444 which is in the range of score 42-51 including the high category. Based on the result obtained, the researcher gives several suggestions to: a) For the Principal it is hoped that they will maintain and increase cooperation with all parties in the school, especially the Guidance and Counseling teachers. carry out the design of tutoring programs to increase student learning motivation. b) Counseling teachers are expected to improve good cooperation with homeroom teachers and subject teachers so that they can obtain information about students who experience learning motivation problems to be followed up in the tutoring program. c) Students are expected to be actively involved in tutoring activities carried out at school, so as to prevent problems related to student learning motivation.
