Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in interest and learning outcomes of students by applying the Brain Based Learning (BBL) learning model on Heat material. This research was conducted at Tarus Christian Theological Middle School. The design of this study uses the One Group Pretest-Posttes Design. The sample used in this study was taken by purposive sampling technique with a total of 15 class VII students. The tools and instruments used in this study were teaching materials, learning implementation plans, student worksheets, test questions in the form of multiple choice questions, and student interest questionnaire sheets. The data analysis technique in this study is descriptive analysis and normalized gain test (N-Gain). The results of this study indicate that the Brain Based Learning (BBL) learning model can improve learning outcomes with an average pretest result of 34, an average posttest result of 80 with an N-Gain value of 0.68 classified as medium criteria and students' learning interest is with an average - an average of 83% with a very high interest category in heat materials.
