Abstract

This researcher entitled ‘’ The Role of Women in Improving the Family Economy through the Marobo Woven Fabric Business in Numponi Village, East Malaka District, Malacca Regency,” The purpose of this study was to describle the role of woman in improving the family’s economy in Numponi Village, east Malacca District, Malacca District. The theory used in this study indicators of production, market and marketing, financial management. Descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. The informan in this study were the weaving group, woven cloth seller. The types of data are primary data and secondary data. Data collection, techiques are carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. The data anlisis techinique used is data collection, data reduction, data monitoring and verification/conclusion techniques. From the research results it is known that the lives of woman marobo weaving craftsmen are to measure the involvement/role of woman in improving the family economy through the marobo woven fabric business. (1) prudtion: (a) still using traditional tools and materials taken from the environment around the residence (b) dyes also from natural dyes taken from plants, (2) market and marketing, for marketing marketing and for the sale of sarung marobo is dhone trough important events both in traditional ceremonies and church events, upload the on social media, put them in front of the house and set them in souvenir places. (3) financial management the profit obtained from the sale of a piece of marobo sarong is IDR 1,050,000/cloth, so far all of profit has not been saved in cooperatives or financial institutions, but is for self-consumption for household needs. The carry out their roles and functions in the family by working and the work while carryng out their duel roles.
