Abstract

Road infrastructure development can support the economic development of a country. However, apart from the large amount of benefits obtained, there are several problems due to the availability of road infrastructure, including traffic accidents. Thus, road safety is a special concern for the Indonesian government. The problem that often occurs on the highway is a traffic accident. Accidents require serious handling considering the losses incurred are very large, in the form of injuries to victims who die or losses in terms of material. With the geometric condition of the road infrastructure and the accident cases that have occurred, it is a challenge for the government to improve the safety quality of road infrastructure with a safety perspective. The road is passed by a variety of four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles heading into the city and outside the city of Kupang. This condition encourages the need for a road safety inspection which is a systematic examination of the highway to identify hazards, errors and deficiencies that can cause accidents.
