Abstract

This research is entitled “Village Government Innovation in Its Role to Preserve the Likurai Dance in Haliklaran Village, Weliman District, Malaka Regency” This study aims to determine the government’s innovation in its role in preserving the likurai dance. The theory used in this study is the role theory of Sarwono (2013) with indicators of relative advantage and suitability. Descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. Informants in the study were government figures, traditional leaders, women leaders, community leaders, youth leaders. The types of data are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techiques used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and verification techniques/conclusion. The results of the study show that the village government’s innovation in its role in preserving the likurai dance plays a significant role, this can be seen from the innovations carried out by the government which of course builds and preserves the village by collaborating with the community so that the likurai dance can still be preserved and seen by the wider community.
