Abstract

Dynamics is one of the elements in choral singing. Researchers who have sung with the OMK Santo Kristoforus choir see that this choir has not applied dynamics in the songs they sing in church. So the researcher took the initiative to conduct a study. From the above problems, the researcher formulated research problems, namely what influences the formation of dynamics and how the application of dynamics in the choir of OMK Santo Kristoforus Rote-Ndao. Therefore, this research aims to find out what influences and how the application of dynamics in this choir. This research is a qualitative research. The research method used is Field Action Research. The research subjects were 14 members of the OMK Santo Kristoforus Rote-Ndao Women's choir. The learning methods used were imitation and drill methods. This research used observation and documentation as data collection techniques. The research process is divided into three stages, namely the initial stage of recruitment, the core stage, and the final stage of evaluation. The results showed that the core stage consisted of 10 meetings. Each meeting begins with vocal warm-up and breathing exercises and exercises using etudes. Then proceed with the application of the dynamics of each beat in the song. Based on the results of the research conducted, the researcher draws conclusions, namely (1) the application of good breathing techniques, body posture, tempo, and frasering can affect the formation of dynamics in the women's choir of OMK Santo Kristoforus Rote-Ndao (2) The application of dynamics is carried out in three stages and uses imitation and drill methods which are also proven effective in learning the application of dynamics in the song Ave Maria by P.Piet Pedo Neo, SVD by the choir of OMK Santo Kristoforus Rote-Ndao.
