Abstract
This study aims to determine the increase in critical thinking skills of class VIII junior high school (SMP) students after the implementation of the Project Based Learning model (PjBL) on the subject matter of simple aircraft. This study uses a research one-group pretest-posttest desig, The instrument used is in the form of a critical thinking ability test consisting of 5 essay questions. The data collection technique used was the pretest test which was used before using the PjBL and the posttest after using the PjBL to measure students' critical thinking skills. The results of this study indicate that the average critical thingking skils have increased whit an N-Gain value of 0,62 in the medium category. The students’ critical thingking skils in the implementation of project based learning on the subject matter of simple aircraft in class VII SMP Katolik Saint Joseph Naikoten Kupang have increased.
