Abstract
A bridge is a construction structure that makes it possible to connect transportation routes separated by rivers, valleys, irrigation canals and even connect islands that are very far apart. Bridge planning does not only consider structural and transportation aspects, but also needs to consider economic and aesthetic aspects. An I-girder composite bridge is a composite building made from various materials combined from two types of materials which are considered to have different properties. These various materials become one unit that works together to support the load. In planning this Composite Bridge Structure, Plate I Girder Beam is used which is made of steel. The span is 20 meters long, the bridge width is 9 meters, the road width is 7 meters, the sidewalks are 1 meter each. The planning method refers to the AASTHO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications (9th Edition) (US 2020). The purpose of this article is to find out what the optimum dimensions are for I-Girders, tie plates, diaphragm plates for bridges with a span length of 20 meters using AASHTO LRFD 2020, and also to find out the safe profile for service, ultimate and fatigue conditions.
