Abstract

The problem of this study: 1) What is the form reduplication in Lamaholot Language (LL) spoken in Middle Adonara. 2) What kinds of words are possible to form reduplication in LL spoken in Middle Adonara. The objectives of this study: 1) To find out processes of forming reduplication of adjectives in LL spoken in Middle Adonara. 2) To find out what kinds of words that are possible to form reduplication of adjectives in LL spoken in Middle Adonara. The method used for this study is descriptive method. Regarding this study, the writer collected the data about reduplication of adjectives in LL spoken in Middle Adonara, then identified and described the reduplication. To obtain the needed data concerning the reduplication of adjectives in LL spoken in Middle Adonara, the writer choose two persons to be the informants. In line with the problem statements, there are some linguistics features of LL spoken in Middle Adonara included the reduplication in adjectives. There are two types of adjectives which analyzed in this thesis, namely: full reduplication and partial reduplication. Full reduplication involves reduplication of the entire word. For example: malu ‘hungry’ malu-malu ‘very hungry’. Partial reduplicartion involves a reduplication of only part of the word. For example: pade ‘smart’ papade ‘very smart’. In line with the result of the data analysis, some suggestions would be offered to many sides in accordance with the role, responsibility, and capability: the experts of linguistics and other related subjects are suggested should do continued study or similar study to confirm and extend the linguistics evidence in forms of reduplication of adjectives in LL spoken in Middle Adonara. Other researchers candidates are suggested to conduct the reduplication of adjectives in LL spoken in Middle Adonara used sentences to obtain the data, other researcher candidates are suggested to design and to conduct other researchers focusing on other aspects of LL spoken in Middle Adonara.
