Abstract

This thesis is entitled The Role of the Department of Youth and Sports as a Facilitator in the Development of Karate Athletes in the City of Kupang. As for the formulation of the problem in writing this thesis is "What is the role of the Youth and Sports Office of the City of Kupang in coaching athletes in the City of Kupang? The purpose of this study is to determine the role of the youth and sports services in increasing coaching in fulfilling the welfare of outstanding karate athletes in Kupang City. The theory used by researchers is a facilitator. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The informant determination technique used in this study was a purposive sampling technique. The results of this study show that; The role of the Youth and Sports Office of the City of Kupang is carried out by (1) Funding the role of the youth and sports service paying less attention, namely funding for matches, giving bonuses to outstanding athletes (2) Facilities and infrastructure, namely the role of the youth and sports services paying more attention to suggestions and infrastructure for training places and equipment practice and matches. Based on the results of the analysis, the authors conclude that the role of the youth and sports service in the City of Kupang is still lacking, but the youth and sports service should pay more attention to the needs of the karate sport, in this case funding and facilities and infrastructure so that every athlete's needs can be fulfilled in training and competition.
