Abstract

Sonaf Spring is a water source located in Sonaf Teunbaun cultural reserve. This spring has a high risk of pollution, this is because it is a place to collect water for the local community and is also surrounded by trees so that there is a buildup of organic materials. Heterotrophic bacteria are bacteria that survive by obtaining food in the form of organic matter from their environment and acting as decomposers or decomposers of organic matter. This study aims to determine the presence or absence of Heterotrophic bacteria and to determine the types of Heterotrophic bacteria in Sonaf springs. The method used is direct observation/observation of the environmental conditions around the spring. Samples were taken from 2 points in order to compare the number of bacteria at the 2 points. To obtain data on heterotrophic bacteria, three stages of testing were carried out including the isolation stage, the characterization stage, and then isolates were identified using Bergey's Manual of Determinative Bacteriology. Data analysis uses qualitative descriptive methods, where all research data that has been collected is descriptive supported using tables and images. Based on the results of the study, 11 bacterial isolates were obtained from spring samples from location 1 and 15 bacterial isolates from location 2. The results of identification using Bergey's Manual of Determinative Bacteriology, 26 isolates of bacteria have similarities with the genera Brucella, Acinetobacter, Xanthobacter, Enterobacter, Cutrobacter, Neisseria, Klebsiella, Acidomonas, Methylococcus and Staphylococcus. At location 1 found 8 genera of bacteria and at location 2 found 5 genera of bacteria. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the discovery of heterotrophic bacteria in Sonaf Teunbaun springs with 10 different genera.
