Abstract

Traditional musical instruments are musical instruments that were created by ancestors and then developed and spread in society from generation to generation to the next generation. Traditional musical instruments have unique characteristics for that area. Bibiliku is one of the traditional musical instruments originating from Malacca Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. , this musical instrument is made from wood and animal skin. The formulation of the problem in this research is the organological aspects, tools and materials used in making Bibiliku musical instruments. The aim of this research is to understand and provide a description of the organological aspects, tools and materials used in the process of making Bibiliku musical instruments. The focus of this research is the process of making bibiliku musical instruments in the Makatar village community, Haliklaran Village, Welimann District, Malaka Regency. This research uses qualitative research methods or field action research, this research method was used by the author in this research to see or observe the process of making bibiliku musical instruments. There are 2 focuses in this research, namely, first, organology which includes the basic materials in making musical instruments. Namely, the size of the musical instrument and the parts of the instrument or musical instrument, secondly, the technique of playing the Bibiliku musical instrument which includes body position, right hand and left hand position. The research results show that 1) Organologo includes a) The tool used in the process of making musical instruments is, Taha (Parang). Tudik (Knife). Chisel, Hammer, and Sandpaper. b) The basic material for making musical instruments is Ai Aktuin (Malapari wood). Bibi Leather (Goatskin) and Rattan Rope, c) the process of making musical instruments, namely: 1) cutting wood to the specified size and making a resonance chamber. 2) forming the body of the musical instrument like an inverted jar. 3) measuring the membrane and tying it to the head of the musical instrument body. 4) make a hanging rope for a musical instrument. d) The shape of the bibiliku instrument resembles an inverted urn, and the size of the instrument is appropriate to the dancer. e) The parts of the bibiliku musical instrument, namely the head which is wrapped with a membrane or membrane made of goat skin as a sound source for the bibiliku musical instrument, the body part has a belt which functions to strengthen the stem, the tail of the musical instrument has a belt which functions as a hanging rope to hang musical instruments when playing musical instruments. 2) Techniques for playing the bibiliku musical instrument which include a) the bibiliku musical instrument is usually played in the form of a dance called the likurai dance b) the position of the right and left hand when playing the bibiliku musical instrument, the position of the right hand and left hand patting the membrane of the musical instrument alternately according to the specified pattern. c) body position when playing the bibiliku musical instrument, usually the body is slightly bent and the body sways to the right and left alternately according to the rhythm.
