Abstract

This research was motivated by students who were less able to solve questions without any problems. This has an impact on low student learning achievement. One learning model that emphasizes students being able to solve problems in learning is the problem based learning model. A learning model that prioritizes how active students are in always thinking critically and always being skilled when faced with solving a problem. The aim of this research is to determine whether or not there is an application of the problem based learning model in class X mathematics lessons at SMK N 1 Tana Righu in sub basic system of linear equations with three variables. This research includes quantitative research using quasi-experimental methods (Quasi Experiment). The sampling technique is one-group pretest-posttest design. Based on the results of the analysis using SPSS version 29 in the Paired Samples Test table, a significant value of 0.001 with α = 0.05 and tcount = 26.7 with ttable = 2.093 was obtained. The results of the analysis show that the significant value is 0.001 < 0.05 and tcount = 26.7 > 2.093 = ttable meaning Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the problem based learning model in class X mathematics lessons at SMK N 1 Tana Righu on the sub-main system three variable linear equations. Based on the conclusions above, the author suggests that teachers in the field of mathematics can apply the problem based learning model, especially in the main sub-subject material of three-variable linear equation systems.
