Abstract

Teacher Performance at Nekamese 1 Public High School, Kupang Regency with Managerial Competence of the Principal as a Mediating Variable", by Parada Monita Napitupulu NIM 811212002 MM, supervised by Dr. Agapitus H. Kaluge, M.Pd and Dr. Henny A. Manafe, SE, MM. Teachers are an important component in the world of education, therefore more attention needs to be given to creating quality teachers so that this can support teacher performance. The aim of this research is to find out: 1) a description of teacher creativity, teacher commitment, teacher performance and managerial competence of school principals at SMA Negeri 1 Nekamese, Kupang Regency. 2) the influence of teacher creativity on the managerial competence of school principals at SMA Negeri 1 Nekamese, Kupang Regency. 3) the influence of teacher commitment on the managerial competence of the principal at SMA Negeri 1 Nekamese, Kupang Regency. 4) the influence of teacher creativity on teacher performance at SMA Negeri 1 Nekamese, Kupang Regency. 5) the influence of teacher commitment on teacher performance at SMA Negeri 1 Nekamese, Kupang Regency. 6) the influence of the principal's managerial competence on teacher performance at SMA Negeri 1 Nekamese, Kupang Regency. 7) mediation of the principal's managerial competence on the influence of teacher creativity on teacher performance at SMA Negeri 1 Nekamese, Kupang Regency. 8) mediation of the principal's managerial competence on the influence of teacher commitment on teacher performance at SMA Negeri 1 Nekamese, Kupang Regency. This research uses quantitative methods. The research sample was 30 teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Nekamese, Kupang Regency. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics using the SmartPLS application The results of descriptive statistical analysis show that the picture of teacher performance, managerial competence, teacher creativity and teacher commitment at SMA Negeri 1 Nekamese, Kupang Regency is good. The results of inferential statistical analysis show that teacher creativity and teacher commitment have a significant effect on the managerial competence of school principals; teacher creativity and principal managerial competence have a significant effect on teacher performance; teacher commitment does not have a significant effect on teacher performance; the principal's managerial competence does not mediate the influence of teacher creativity on teacher performance; The principal's managerial competence mediates the effect of teacher commitment on teacher performance. Based on the results of this research, it can be recommended to the management of SMA Negeri 1 Nekamese Kupang Regency to improve teacher performance, by increasing teacher creativity, teacher commitment and principal managerial competence.
