Abstract

This thesis is entitled The Value of Gotong Royong in Wuat Wa'i Culture of Compang Congkar Village Community. The formulation of the problem in writing this thesis is how the value of mutual assistance in the wuat wa'i culture of the people of Compang Congkar Village. The theory used by researchers in solving research problems is culture and mutual assistance. This study used qualitative descriptive method. Primary data sources are informants while secondary data are documents related to research variables. The data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis stage is carried out through data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing stage and then descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed that (1). Gotong royong as aform of social solidarity in the form of internal family meetings and the meaning of Torok Wuat Wai material donations from the nuclear family in the form of money, coffee, sugar, firewood, kitchen utensils seasoning and talking about costs, energy determines the MC (master of ceremony), convey the family situation, and ask their child's sincerity to continue school. The meaning contained in the torok of fraternal values and religious values. (2) Gotong royong as a form of integration in the form of involvement in the implementation of wuat wa'i and tracing woe nelu (relations between two families) including the family of the mother (son of rona) and the family of the father (son of vienna) and prayer at the grave of the ancestors (ngaji one grave ema lopo ende lopo) in order to ask for the blessing and smooth running of the wuat wa'i event goes well; kepok for rona children, viennese children, ase kae with the aim of asking for prayer support both moral and material for children; torok (expression of mantras in wuat wa'i ceremonies); Toto vein and give offerings to the ancestors of Teing Helang and eat bersam. The implementation of woe nelu also brought the necessary contributions during the ceremony such as tuak (moke), manuk bakok (white chicken), zinc (money) and also energy and mind. The contribution is to help ease the burden and responsibility and meet the needs of the family (3) Gotong royong in the form of help in the form of dodo is a donation of material, goods, money and energy in the form of devotional work to build a camp and donations of material, goods, money and energy. In addition, the benefits of wuat wa'i create a sense of parental concern for children's education and one of the momentum hat can reunite family, relatives, and friends can be realized by involving all families, relatives and friends in the wuat wa'i event Based on the results of the analysis above, the author concludes that the form of mutual aid values of the Compang Congkar Village Community has run well as wujut and brotherhood values, a sense of care, sensitivity to the surrounding environment and the establishment of cohesiveness in the form of internal family meetings, stages of wuat wa'i events and service work to build camps and donations of materials, goods, money and energy.
