Abstract

The Betun Border Support General Hospital (RSUPP) identified several diseases that children often suffer from, such as acute diarrhea, dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF), pulmonary tuberculosis (TB-PARU), and anemia. However, one of the most life-threatening diseases in children is dengue fever. The aim of this research is to design an expert system application that can help doctors and medical personnel in diagnosing diseases in children at RSUPP Betun. Due to the limited number of medical personnel or pediatricians, this often causes delays in the diagnosis process, so it takes a long time. The expert system development was carried out using the Waterfall model, and the method used was the Naïve Bayes method, with the experts involved being pediatricians. The result of this research is to design an expert system-based web application that has the ability to diagnose diseases in children. The application development process involves the use of PHP programming and MySQL as a database. The results of the development and testing of this expert system application can produce an expert system application for diagnosing diseases in children at RSUPP Betun, and providing fast and accurate solutions to improve the health of children in the area.
