Abstract

Discovery Learning model is one of the learning models that can process, process information, and train the independence of students. This model helps students to improve their cognitive skills and process and direct student learning by involving their intellect and motivation.The main problem in this research is how the application of discovery learning model learning subject temperature and changepressureinstruments in the class VIIIstudentof juniorHigh School SMPNegeri2Kupangin firstsemester of academic year 2018/2019specifically formulated as follows: 1) how the teacher's ability to manage the learning activities by applying the learning model discovery learning? 2) how completeness indicator learning outcomes of students by applying the learning discovery learning? 3) how the thoroughness of the study of students by applying the learning discovery learning? 4) how the response of students to the learning activities by applying the learning model discovery learning?This research is a descriptive study, subjects in this study are educators (researchers) and students of class VIIIstudents High School SMPNegeri 2Kupang firstsemester of academic year 2018/2019? totaling is 30learners. Learning device used in this study are as follows: Subjects of Students, Learning Implementation Plan, Worksheet Students, Sheet Discussion of Students, Grating Test Results Learning and Test Learning outcomes. Techniques used in collecting data are observation, test and questionnaires. The instrument used in this study was the observation sheet managing learning, achievement test and a spreadsheet of responses learners. The data analysis technique is used is descriptive analysis techniques that include the average score, proportions and percentages.Based on the analysis of data descriptive and discussion of is researchedresults, obtained by applying that learning to apply discovery learning learning subject is temperature and changeoptical instruments in the VIIIstudents of JuniorHigh School infirstsemester of academic year 2018/2019 population of student is 30learners , detailly,obtained by the ability of educators to manage learning that includes lesson plans, learning implementation, and evaluation of learning is good with a score of 4,00each; 3.87; 4,00. Indicator of learning outcomes (prepared as many as five indicators of the product, the twelveindicators affective, and the five indicators psychomotor with three lesson plans for each lesson plan are all completed with an average proportion of each 0.87; 0.79; 0.96. Test results of learning learners both from the aspect of affective, psychomotor and cognitive everything is finished with a score of respectively 0.76, 0.79and 0.89. The response of students inlearning activities which include; Preliminary activities, the core activities, the closing, the allocation of time and the atmosphere of the class is done by educators are all in good category with a averaged of presentation is 77,56%.
