Abstract

Decision support systems (DSS) have become an important instrument in optimizing decision-making processes in various fields, including assessing land suitability for food crops. Land suitability assessment is a crucial step in modern agriculture to ensure efficient and productive land use. The Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method is one of the approaches used in developing SPK to assess land suitability.This research aims to develop a decision support system that uses the SAW method in providing land for food crops. The data used in this research includes various parameters such as soil texture,dehydration,airavailability, altitude, and other factors that influence the growth of food plants. Through the application of the SAW method, this system is able to provide measurements of land suitability by calculating the relative weight of each parameter and providing a suitability value based on a comparison of the values between each parameter and the predetermined criteria values. The results of this system provide recommendations regarding land suitability for various types of food crops, helping decision makers in determining the most suitable type of plant for each land location. Thus, this decision support system can be an effective tool for farmers, researchers and policy makers in optimizing agricultural land use to increase food crop productivity.
