Abstract

This final assignment paper aims to apply the transformation of Manggarai vernacular architecture in the planning and design of the East Manggarai District Prosecutor's Office. The Manggarai vernacular architectural transformation approach aims to create a building that not only meets the functional needs of a prosecutor's office, but also maintains and adapts Manggarai vernacular architectural elements. The method used in this research is a qualitative method, a method that uses logical thinking in analyzing the building. For example, building height and so on, and quantitative methods, namely a research method that uses a lot of numbers, starting from the data collection process to its interpretation. For example: space, area and number of parking lots and so on. The results of this design show that through the transformation of vernacular architecture, the prosecutor's office building can reflect local identity, while meeting the required functional and comfort standards. It is hoped that this design can be an example of the application of vernacular architecture in the construction of public facilities in the East Manggarai area, as well as increasing awareness of the importance of preserving local culture through architecture.
