Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine whether there is influence of the methods recitation toward mathematis achievement of junior high school student.The sample in this study is the class VIII SMP N 2 Kota Kupang grade students, consisted of 30 students. The data used in this study are taken from the result of pretest and posttest of the class experiential with setting interactive learning methods recitation. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 22 and analysis. Prior to testing a hypothesis, a prerequisite test was conducted, which is a normality check for pretest and posttest data. The data obtained from the pretest analysis result was asymp.Sig. (2 tailed) = 0,200 > 0,05 and = 0,99 < = 0,242. Thus accepted and the were normally distributed. While the data obtained from posttest war asymp.Sig. (2 tailed) = 0,155 > 0,05 and = 0,179 < = 0,190. Thus accepted and the data normally distributed. Hypothesis testing using a paired sample test, after the data were analized the result was. Sig.(2 -tailed) = 0,000 < 0.05 and = 13,191 > = 2,045 , then is rejected. Therefore it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of methods recitation on mathematics achievement of junior high school student. These results of this study indicate the use of question studend have effect on matematic achievement of junior high school student. Therefore, the authors suggest for teacher to use question student methods recitation on learning in the classroom in accordance with the material to be taught.
