Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the students' mistakes in working on mathematical questions on the subject of Pythagoras's Dalil. This research was conducted on students of Kupang Middle School 13 class IX-A, which amounted to 3 students with the criteria of students with high abilities, students with moderate abilities and students with low abilities. The results of the study show that: first, the problem of understanding the problem, students with high, medium and low abilities are able to determine what is known and what is asked correctly so that in questions number 1, 2 and 3 students do not make mistakes understanding the problem; the second is the problem transformation problem, students with high and moderate abilities are able to use all information obtained from the question and are able to determine the right formula in working on each item while students with low ability cannot determine the right formula in working on the problem so that in question number 1, 2 and 3 students with low abilities make mistakes about problem transformation; the third is process skill error, students with high ability are able to work on each question using a predetermined formula and the workmanship is done correctly while moderate and low ability students cannot work on the problem with a predetermined formula and the workmanship is still wrong so that numbers 1, 2 and 3 moderate and low ability students make process skill mistakes; the fourth answer writing errors, students with high, medium and low abilities do not write conclusions of the answers so that students with high and low abilities fail to write answers to errors in questions number 1, 2 and 3 and students have the ability to make mistakes in writing answers to questions number 1 and 3.
