Abstract

Dheli Dhozo is one of the traditional songs from Tarawali village, So'a sub- district, Ngada district. This song is used in the Harvest Thanksgiving ceremony, held in the afternoon to evening in the 2nd month of old or 3rd month of young. The problem raised in this study is how the presentation form and meaning of Dheli Dhozo singing in the harvest thanksgiving ceremony. This research aims to describe the form of presentation of Dheli Dhozo songs and examine and describe the meaning of Dheli Dhozo songs at the harvest thanksgiving ceremony. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach and ethnographic methods. This research uses primary and secondary data obtained through interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the form of presentation of Dheli Dhozo singing consists of three stages, namely the preparatory stage in the form of utu tiwo (customary deliberations), Fuga (preparing materials for making offerings), Dhara Manu (burning chicken offerings), Fedhi Ebu (giving offerings to ancestors), Fedha Pata (announcing to the community), the second stage of the core ceremony in the form of Dheli Dhozo singing and the closing stage in the form of Wesa Wae Nio (splashing coconut water). The meaning of the Dheli Dhozo song is an expression of gratitude to the ancestors and the universe for the harvest,a means of connecting humans with the universe and as a medium to convey messages and impressions to theimpression to the community to live in brotherhood, unity and also has a meaning of beauty.meaning of beauty.
