Abstract

The text highlights the increasing need for faster and more accurate information in the era of globalization. It emphasizes the role of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), particularly web-based GIS, in providing real-time geographic location information. However, it notes that the utilization of GIS in religious institutions, specifically in locating rayons in the Church of the Evangelical Church in Timor (GMIT), is limited. The GMIT Jemaat Galed Kelapa Lima church in Kupang City faces challenges in manually recording and tracking the number of rayons, congregations, and their distances from the church. To address this, the research aims to develop a web-based GIS map for GMIT Galed Congregation Service Area. The system, built with PHP and MySQL tools, will enable easier access to information on rayon and church locations, congregation data, and distances between congregants' houses and the church. The benefits of this research include increased convenience for congregants in locating rayons and church, as well as improved efficiency for church administrators in providing information quickly and accurately.
