Abstract

Siliwangi Street Corridor in the Kota Lama Kupang District is a primary route used by public and private vehicles heading towards the East and South of the city. The heavy traffic conditions make this corridor less pedestrian-friendly, reducing activities and social interactions along the pedestrian path. This is due to the lack of land use planning, buildings constructed without considering building setbacks or sidewalk widths, limited public space facilities, and the lack of community activities that would make this corridor a vibrant social hub. This research aims to formulate strategies for the arrangement of the Siliwangi Street Corridor Area using a Livable Street approach, focusing on improving environmental quality, accessibility, and comfort for pedestrians. The research methods employed are qualitative and quantitative, involving data collection through field observations, interviews, and literature studies. The results indicate that the Siliwangi Street Corridor Area has great potential to be developed into an attractive commercial and service area. The Livable Street approach is expected to enhance environmental quality, create comfortable and safe public spaces, and revitalize activities along the corridor area.
