Abstract

The Ka Todo traditional ceremony is a harvest thanksgiving ceremony that occurs once a year in the 7th month in Pautola Village, Central Keo District, Nagekeo Regency. The Jetu song is one of the songs in the Ka Todo traditional ceremony. The background of the problem in this study is that many Pautola people, especially the easy people, do not know about the meaning and function of the Jetu (Ancestor) song in the Ka Todo traditional ceremony. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the stages of the Ka Todo traditional ceremony and what is the meaning and function of the Jetu song in the Ka Todo traditional ceremony. The objectives of this study are 1). To find out the stages in the Ka Todo traditional ceremony and 2). the meaning and function of Jetu singing in the Ka Todo traditional ceremony. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with an ethnographic method. The data collection techniques used are literature studies and field studies. The results of the study show that there are 13 stages in the Ka Todo traditional ceremony, namely: 1). Paka nggo damba, 2). Ka Todo Mbue, 3). Pute Wutu, 4). Daka Ana, 5). Ndera or tandak, 6). Jetu, 7). Belewo, 8). Ade Earlier, 9). Wi Tuka Dako, 10). Ka Fai Ngga'e, 11). Oa Api and Sepa Api, 12). Ka Todo Pale, 13). Papa Todi. The meaning contained in the Jetu song is 1). religious meaning and 2). social meaning. Jetu singing in the Ka Todo traditional ceremony has the following functions: 1). social function, 2). as a means of communication, 3). Brotherhood ties, 4). economic facilities and 5). ritual facilities.
