Abstract
Kolewalan dance is a dance that depicts unity and gratitude. In a literal sense,“kolewalan” consist of two words, namely “kole”which means fruit stalk and “walan” means a collection of fruit hanging from one stalk. The meaning of these words shows that the kolewalan dance is a means of unifying society ini a dance that is full of joy and gratitude. Kolewalan dance is a dance that is always performed in traditional ahar rituals. The ahar rituals is the ritual of bathing the eldes child by traditional leaders as a sign of being offcially accepted as part of the extended family of the Watuwawer Tribe. This is what became the attraction for the author to analyze what kind of presentation the Kolewalan Dance is performed in the traditional ahar ritual. Apart from that, this research has not been studied by anyone. The research aims to determine the from of presentation of the Kolewalan Dance in the Ahar traditional ritual. This research is descriptive qualitative, using ethnographic methods. Data collection techniques begin with observation,interviews with sources and documentation. The results of this research are as follows : 1) Movement. The movements are quite simple and are done repeatedly, 2) Floor pattern. The floor pattern forms a semicircle, 3) Make up. In this dance,all danccers do not use any make-up or no make-up. 4) Dress code. The clothing used is woven cloth with original motifs from Watuwawer village itself, 5)Performance venue. The kolewalan dance is performed in front of a traditional house with a wide and open yard, 6) Accompaniment. The accompaniment in the kolewalan dance is divided into 2, namely internal and external. The internal accompaniment is in the form of singing while the external accompaniment uses drum instrumen.
