Abstract
The Saint Joseph Naikoten Parish Church is one of the churches in Kupang City which was established on October 31, 1967 as an expansion of the Christ the King Cathedral Parish of Kupang. This church is located on Jalan Herewila, number 33, Naikoten 2 Village, Kota Raja District, Kupang City. Its patron is Saint Joseph. This church building adopts a Neoclassical architectural style, has a facade dominated by 3 towers. The facade in the form of 3 towers is a very good cover for the main building. In 2023, the number of congregants at the St. Joseph Naikoten Parish Church in Kupang City reached ± 7898 people, while the capacity of the congregation at the St. Joseph Naikoten Parish Church in Kupang City can only accommodate ± 800 people. This caused the St. Joseph Naikoten Parish Church in Kupang City to no longer be able to accommodate the congregation to celebrate the Eucharist. To hold Easter and Christmas mass, tents are used on the front and sides of the church. In this Parish, supporting facilities will also be rearranged such as: Rectory, hall, and secretariat building. Planning and designing the St. Yoseph Naikoten Parish Church Complex in Kupang City as an ideal place for the congregation in accordance with the standards of the parish church rules to carry out worship as the main activity and also as a means of unity and mutual service among the congregation and a means of social service of the church to the surrounding community as a supporting activity and Designing the St. Yoseph Naikoten Parish Church Complex in Kupang City while maintaining cultural elements, the environment, including the local climate expressed in the form of church design and mass layout (Neoclassical). The conclusion of this study is the Redesign Design of the St. Yoseph Naikoten Parish Church in Kupang City with a Neoclassical Architecture approach. So that a combination of modern and traditional materials is created but still in harmony with the conditions around the site and can accommodate the needs of the congregation and function optimally as a church.
