Abstract

This research is a kind of quasi experimental research with pretest posttest control group design. The population of this study were all students of class X MIA SMAK Sin Carolus Penfui Kupang. Sampling using Simple Random Sampling technique and obtained class XAas an experimental class that uses the CLIS learning model and class XBas a control class using conventional learning. The instruments used in this study were in the form of pretest and posttest, observation implementation learning sheets, planning evaluation and learning evaluation sheets. Data analysis techniques include prerequisite testing and hypothesis testing. The prerequisite test in the form of normality and homogeneity tests, the research hypothesis test using the t test (Independent Sample t-test). In detail the teacher's ability to manage learning includes learning planning by obtaining an average score of 3.96, implementing learning by obtaining an average score of 3.8 and evaluating learning obtaining an average score of 4.00, then carried out by calculating NGain with obtain the average value in the experimental class 0.63 and the control class 0.40. The results showed that there was a significant increase. The amount of improvement in the ability to think creatively and think critically by applying the CLIS model is presented in the calculation of NGain in the"moderate"category.
