Abstract

Discovery Learning Model is a learning model that involves students actively to solve problems given by the teacher to a conclusion. The general problem in this study is "How are the results of the implementation of the Discovery Learning model the subject matter of light waves in students of class XI MIA 1 Kupang 7 Senior High School Even Semester Academic Year 2018/2018?" Specifically are: 1) What is the teacher's ability to manage learning by applying the learning model Discovery Learning ?, 2) How completeness of the indicators of student learning outcomes in learning by applying the learning model Discovery Learning ?, 3) What is the completeness of student learning outcomes by applying the learning model Discovery Learning ?, 4) How students respond learning by applying the Discovery Learning learning model? Based on these problems, the objectives to be achieved in this study are "Describing the results of the implementation of the Discovery Learning model of the subject matter of light waves in class XI MIA 1 Kupang 7 Senior High School Even Semester Academic Year 2018/2019" Specifically are: 1) Describe the teacher's ability to manage learning by applying the learning model Discovery Learning, 2) Describe the completeness of indicators of student learning outcomes in learning by applying learning models Discovery Learning, 3) Describe the completeness of student learning outcomes by applying the learning model Discovery Learning, 4) Describe the response students in learning by applying the Discovery Learning learning model. This type of research is descriptive. The subject in this study is students of class XI MIA 1 Kupang 7 High School totaling 25 people. The technique used in collecting data is observation, tests and questionnaires. The learning tools used in this study are Learning Materials for Students, Syllabus, Learning Implementation Plans, Student Worksheets, Student Discussion Sheets and Grids of Learning Outcomes Tests. While the instruments used in this study are Learning Management Observation Sheet, Learning Outcomes Test (Product, Affective and Psychomotor), Affective and Psychomotor Aspect Assessment Sheet, and Student Response Sheet. The data analysis technique in this study is descriptive (by calculating the average score, proportion and percentage). Based on the results of data analysis shows that in general the teacher's ability to manage learning applies the Discovery learning model which includes planning with an average score of 4.00, evaluation planning with an average score of 4.00 and implementation with an average score of 3.92 is included in the good category. Cognitive learning outcome indicators with an average proportion of 0.77, affective learning outcome indicators with an average proportion of 0.81, psychomotor learning outcomes indicators 0.87 and including complete categories. Cognitive learning outcomes averaged 0.91, affective learning outcomes averaged 0.83, psychomotor learning outcomes the average proportion of 0.90 was included in the complete category. And the response of students to learning by applying discovery learning learning models an average percentage of 89% in the category strongly agree. In the implementation of learning must pay attention to time management at each stage of implementation so that all student activities are truly developed and implemented properly. Based on the description above, it was stated that the application of the discovery learning model in the subject matter of light waves in students of class XI MIA1 Kupang 7 Senior High School Even Semester Academic Year 2018/2019 was optimal.
