Abstract

This research is entitled : “Coordination in the traditional rituals peanut party in the Village Leuwayan District Omesuri East Lembata. The objectives of this are to describe the process of implementing the ka utan ritual (peanut party) in the Leuwayan village community. In this research,the author used three froms of coordination indicators proposed by Hasibuan (2006:88) to cover the core theory of coordination namely : unity of action,communication and division of work. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The data sources used are primary data and secondary data in which data is collected from the field and available sources are made in clear and easy- to understand sentences. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the ka utan ritual is a form of gratitude for the sustenance in the form of harvests given by Tuangala (God Almighty) and the ancestors of Leu Auq.This ritual is carried out through several stages namely mawu mu’u manuq, poan kemer, keu huna hale and mawu utan buyaq nore anen. In the stages of implementing the ka utan traditional ritual, starting from mawu mu’u manuq to oi song,it is not carried out in any place and not just anyone,but certain people, namely the Apeutung and Bolileraq tribes.
