Abstract

The purpose of this study was (1) to find out on overview of the development of empowerment groups of female heads of households (Pekka) keru baki in the sub-district of ile ape, lembata district. (2) to find out the comparisonof successes between groups based on the type on business in the sub-district of ile ape, lembata district. (3) to find out how much the increase in income, savings and consumption of members of the empowerment group of female household heads (Pekka) keru baki in the sub-district of ile ape, lembata district. (4) to find out the role of women in meeting household economic needs through the empowerment of women heads of household (Pekka) keru baki in the sub-district of ile ape, lembata district.The analytical method used id qualitative descriptive analysis. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data with research subjects, namely members of the empowerment group of female heads of households (Pekka) keru baki in bungamyda village andlamawara village ile ape subdistrict, lembata district.The results of the study show that theempowerment of women household heads (Pekka) plays an important role in improving the household economy in this case the income, savings and consumption Pekka members through savings and loans activities, basic necessities and woven weaving. In the emplementation of empowerment programs for female heads of households (Pekka), there are still obstacles that are often faced by both members and manager as in opening access in various village and sub-district.Based on the results of this study, it is expected from the government to pay attention in the form of support for Pekka groups and provide capital assistance for business develoment.
