Abstract

This research is entitled “Women’s Participation in Handling Stunting in Lari Laki Village, Wolomeze District, Ngada Regency”. The problem formulation is how women participate in handling stunting in Lari Laki Village, Wolomeze District, Ngada Regency. The aim of this research is to describe and analyze women’s participation in handling stunting in Lari Laki Village, Wolomeze District, Ngada Regency. To explain the main problem in the title above, a theory of participation was built with a focus on women’s involvement in handling stunting based on the aspects of participation in planning, participation in implementation, and participation in evaluation. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method and the techniques used are interview and documentation techniques. The research results show (1) Participation of women in planning to handle stunting, which is marked by women’s participation in attending planning meetings to handle stunting in Lari Laki Village. Women’s participation in Lari Laki Village at the planning stage for handling stunting is in the sufficient category. This means that the community or women rarely attend stunting handling planning meetings.(2) Community participation in Lari Laki Village in the process of implementing the stunting management plan is in the sufficient category. This means that some women or the community are active in providing assistance with thoughts, energy and funds in implementing stunting management. But sometimes because of the busy activities of women or, the assistance provided is less than optimal. (3) Participation of the Lari Laki Village Community in general and Women in particular at the evaluation stage as a form of involvement in stunting management efforts is not yet optimal. This is because the level of attendance during the evaluation of plans and processes for handling stunting toddlers is still minimal. Apart from that, it was also found that mothers were represented to accompany children during posyandu schedules, on which occasions nutrition officers and posyandu cadres always provided various findings to be used as a study as a form of evaluation in efforts to handle stunting. Based on the research results above, it can be concluded that women’s participation in handling stunting in Lari Laki Village, Wolomeze District, Ngada Regency is not good enough or not optimal.
