Abstract

The research aims to: 1)improvement of creative and exploratory thinking skills through synecrics learning for students of class X IPA SMAN Sint Carolus Kupang even semester academic year 2018/2019, 2) the difference in the average improvement in creative thinking and exploration skills through synectics learning in SMA X IPA students in Sint Carolus Kupang in the even semester of 2018/2019. This research is a kind of qusai experimental research with pretest posttest control group design. The population of this study were all students of class X IPA SMAK Sint Carolus Kupang. Sampling using Simple Random Sampling technique and obtained class X IPA1 as an experimental class using the Synectics learning model and class X IPA2 as a control class using conventional learning. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires on creative thinking skills and exploration problems. Data analysis techniques include descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. In inferential analysis there is a hypothesis test using the Mann-Whitney test. In detail the results of the analysis of the average increase in students' creative thinking skills in the experimental class, which is 0.3154 are categorized as moderate level, while the control class is 0.1137 categorized as low level. The results of the analysis of the average increase in exploratory abilities of students in the experimental class, which is 0.7412, are categorized as high, while the control class is 0.5138 categorized as medium level.
