Abstract

This research is titled "Strategies of the Regional Election Commission (KPUD) of Manggarai District in Enhancing Voter Participation in the 2024 Elections". The problem addressed in this study is how KPUD Manggarai District strategizes to increase voter participation in the 2024 elections. The objective of this research is to describe and analyze the strategies employed by KPUD Manggarai District to enhance voter participation in the 2024 elections. The primary variable in this study is the strategy to enhance voter participation. This strategy encompasses the tactical efforts and steps taken by KPUD Manggarai District through Program Strategy and Resources Support Strategy. The research methodology used is qualitative descriptive with purposive sampling technique. The data utilized consists of both primary and secondary data. The technical analysis of the data is presented in the form of exposition or description of findings gathered from field data, including interview results and documentation, to describe KPUD's strategies. The research was conducted at KPUD Manggarai District, located at Jl Jendral Sudirman, Lempe, Pau, Langke Rembong, Manggarai District, East Nusa Tenggara. The focus of the study is on preparations for the 2024 elections conducted by KPUD Manggarai District. Based on the first aspect, namely program strategy implemented by KPUD Manggarai District, the research findings indicate that KPUD has executed strategies to increase voter participation in the 2024 elections, such as the preparation of polling station committees (PPK, PPS, and KPPS), voter data updating, and public education on the electoral process. Meanwhile, based on the second aspect, namely resources support strategy, KPUD has implemented strategies to strengthen internal capacity and ensure adequate budget allocations. In conclusion, this research concludes that KPUD Manggarai District has successfully laid a strong foundation to enhance voter participation in the 2024 elections. These efforts not only focus on technical aspects but also emphasize education and active community involvement in the democratic process. Based on the research conclusions, it is recommended that KPUD Manggarai District, and election commissions in general, conduct thorough evaluations regarding transparency and accountability in the voting process. To achieve more effective education, KPUD needs to enhance its effectiveness in educating the public about the importance of participation in elections.
